If you search (affiliate link included for your convenience) Amazon in All Departments for ‘mindset’, there are 16,901 results. Searching the term in (affiliate link included for your convenience) Amazon in Books returns 6,781 results – these numbers increased by 175 and 4 respectively since yesterday! And a Google search returns 84,500,000 results.
I have been blessed with a beautiful life.
In less than a week, I will celebrate 34 years of marriage with my best friend Greg – a man who chose me and believed in me. He has laughed with me, cried with me, and fought with me, but most importantly, he has grown with me.

Trip planning always includes music about traveling. And while country music singer Willie Nelson might have won a Grammy Award for On the Road Again, when I think of the song, it’s always my dad who’s singing.
I was extremely blessed to have had a father with strong family values and a love for adventure and travel. (I’m pretty sure my mom did most of the trip planning.) In their retirement years, my mom and dad crisscrossed the country in a class-A motorhome. I can still close my eyes and see my dad at the wheel of his big rig singing ‘On the road again’ at the top of his lungs. The tulips are blooming, and leaves are finally appearing on the trees here in Michigan. But while we had a few nice days in April, the rest of the month was cold, rainy, and gray. And so far, May has been running about 10 degrees below normal. Yesterday’s high was just 58°. This is a problem for me every spring. So, I just declare ‘Travel Time’ and head off to warmer temps. Two years ago, it was Panama. Last year, it was North Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. This year, I spent a wonderful week in sunny (well, mostly) St. Louis. [Read more…]
