RehearsingRetirement.com is a blog devoted to helping you enjoy the Retirement Lifestyle regardless of your age or employment status. Oh yeah, and planning for the real thing.
As I prepared to launch RehearsingRetirement.com, I asked myself what would be most important in retirement and realized that those same things are most important in my life today.
- Home – family, friends, community, along with a safe and comfortable place (or places) to live
- Health – emotional, mental, physical, and fiscal
- Happiness – spending time with loved ones, doing things that I enjoy, helping others and traveling
You may not be able to say good-bye to your career quite yet, but there are things you can do today to live your life to the fullest and get ready for the next stage – full-time retirement.
HI! My name is Jeanne Noorman. From a young age, I always wanted to run a bookstore and be a writer. Yes, my two favorite hobbies are reading and writing. Other favored pastimes include camping and traveling, spending time with family and friends, and playing with my grandson.
In 2014, I left my position as a store manager for one of the few remaining brick and mortar national bookstore chains. Today, I help small businesses and entrepreneurs with marketing, content creation, copywriting and editing at JeanneNoorman.com. There is nothing more rewarding than using your God-given gifts to help others reach their fullest potential.
Does that sound like something a teacher would say? Oh yeah, I am a veteran homeschool mom (17 years), as well as a former support group leader, workshop presenter, speaker, and theater director.
As my husband Greg and I reached our late 50’s, we started thinking and talking about where and when we want to retire.
While Michigan has been our home for the past thirty years, I grew up in Southern Arizona, and I’m looking forward to becoming a snowbird – maybe in Tombstone catching up with old friends, or California where our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson are moving, or even in Spain where I first met Greg.
The blog posts on RehearsingRetirement.com will record our adventure of preparation and planning for retirement – where we’re going, how we’re getting there, and what we’re doing to get ready.
